How it all started...
On a Saturday in November of 2008, eight people gathered in a local home to pray and to discern the Lord’s will for founding an Anglican Church in Southern Nevada. After discussion and prayer, they asked Bishop John-David Schofield to give them permission to name the church Jesus the Good Shepherd and to make plans for worship.
Bishop John-David Schofield gave his blessing by letter: "I believe that Jesus Christ will be lifted up, the solid teaching of the Bible will be proclaimed, and that many will come not only to receive Jesus as Savior and be filled with the Holy Spirit as well...What is essential now is to lay a firm foundation on the Scriptures, a desire to honor and lift up Jesus as the only way to the Father, and a desire to see many others come to know the freedom of life that He alone can give...”

Expanding the vision...
During the pandemic of 2020, we expanded our fellowship space and a children’s classroom for the Good Shepherd School Project, an atrium for Homeschoolers, which started in January of 2021!
Where we are headed...
Holy Baptism
In Holy Baptism, the outward and visible sign is water, in which candidates are baptized “in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19). The inward and spiritual grace is death to sin and new birth to righteousness, through union with Christ in his death and resurrection (romans 6:1-11).
Confirmation
The Anglican Church requires a public and personal profession of the Faith from every adult believer in Jesus Christ. Confirmation or Reception by a Bishop is its liturgical expression. Confirmation is clearly grounded in Scripture: the Apostles prayed for, and laid their hands on those who had already been baptized (2 timothy 1:6-7; acts 8:14-17; 19:6).
Reception
Those Confirmed in other Christian traditions are received into the Anglican Church with prayer and the laying on of hands by a Bishop.
Ministry
Our members sing in our choir, play musical instruments in worship, serve at the altar, serve as ushers, volunteer in the Good Shepherd School, provide Safety, and in many other ways!
